Interview with Twinns

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Identical twin brothers, Kevin and Chris Delgado form the Canadian duo; Twinns. These small town boys from Leamington, Ontario are passionate about making music and broke into the scene recently by being signed to Panda Funk Records.

Back in 2015, the two of them had first started out by producing Electro House/Big room, which is actually the style they truly love. 2016 saw an evolution of their newly adapted sound; focusing production on radio/club friendly tracks, with some groovy vibes to go along with it.

Go check out their Soundcloud and Spotify where you’ll find plenty of originals, a collab with Milk N Cooks and bootlegs/remixes of some of the more popular mainstream music out there.

Bassdrop: What’s the story behind “TWINNS”?
Twinns: Our story is fairly simple, two twin brothers that love EDM and wanted to pursue the genre of music. The name TWINNS just sort of felt perfect, growing up we were called by twins. So we figured to find a way to make it sort of original by adding the double “N” to signify the two of us.

BD: Being a duo, does each one of you have a role?
T: When it comes to outside of the studio we share some different tasks. Kevin takes care of the business part with label releases contracts and connects. Chris takes care of sending promo emails to Djs, checking emails and preparing and gathering artwork and visual effects along with posting to our social networks.

BD: What inspired you to start Producing and DJing?
T: One of our biggest inspirations actually started with Hardwell. When his breakout track “Spaceman” was released it really caught our attention to try to learn the style and genre of EDM. It led us to watching online FL Studio YouTube tutorials on how “Spaceman” was made.

BD: For those out there who aren’t familiar with your music, please describe your style.
T: In the year of 2015 when we first started out we were producing Electro House/Big room. This style is really what we truly love, but we have adapted our sound in the year of 2016 when we learned new techniques in FL Studio. We’d say our style now would be more radio/club friendly tracks, with some groovy vibes. We have recently been working with a few vocalists on some material, kind of mimicking what The Chainsmokers, Martin Garrix & Major Lazor are doing at the moment.

BD: Who or what are your biggest sources of inspiration for your music?
T: We would have to say our biggest inspiration in making music has to be seeing what The Chainsmokers have been able to do, evolving themselves with radio friendly tracks. It made us believe that we should take TWINNS in the same direction. Also another reason is our fans who show us love and support everyday.

BD: What are your goals for your music career for the next few years?
T: Our goals for TWINNS in the next few years are signing major deals with record agencies and to start touring and DJing at clubs/venues & festivals.

BD: If you could work with any artist, who would it be and why?
T: If we could work with any artist, we would say Justin Bieber. What he has been able to do in the scene lately is unbelievable! Since we have started releasing vocal tracks and have focused in that direction, working with Bieber would be something we could only dream about doing right now.

Bassdrop: Anything else not mentioned here that’d you’d like to tell your fans?
Twinns: Expect lots of vibey vocal tracks. Some Future Bass, and a lot of vocal chops!

Bassdrop: Looking forward to that guys! Also if you’re reading this look out for the Twinns taking over the #TeamBassdrop Spotify Playlist in the next few days.
